Arena.io, an outcomes-based talent platform that uses career data from the four million people on its platform to predict who will succeed and stay in a role, today announced it has raised $4.5 million in closed capital to accelerate its growth with public sector workforce and education systems, secure strategically relevant investors, and address changes in the labor market driven by rapidly evolving technology and federal policy shifts.
Participants in the finance round include: World Education Services (WES), an investor in innovations supporting the economic inclusion of immigrants and refugees in the US and Canada; Todd Y Park, the co-founder of Devoted Health and former US Chief Technology Officer; Mindy Munger, Ed.D., chair of the Dean’s Leadership Council of the Harvard Graduate School of Education; the Sherman Family Foundation and the France-Merrick Foundation, foundations with a track record investing in education and workforce innovation; the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development; and existing investors.
“This investment reflects growing recognition that workers, employers, educators, and governments need better tools to understand skills, navigate career transitions, and respond to constantly evolving labor market demands,” said Mike Rosenbaum, founder and CEO of Arena.io. “We are building the layer that helps labor markets function more effectively, creating better outcomes for workers while helping organizations address critical workforce challenges.”
Arena.io’s platform leverages artificial intelligence and robust, ongoing real time labor market data, as well as individual outcomes within that data, to help organizations improve workforce planning, reduce turnover, accelerate hiring, and identify pathways for employee growth and advancement. Unlike applicant tracking systems (ATS) that screen based on past resume keywords, Arena.io relies on post-hire longitudinal outcome data to predict match fit. The company works across industries including healthcare, workforce development, education, and the public sector.
“Workforce mobility is one of the defining challenges and opportunities of our time,” said Monica Munn, Chief Social Impact Officer at WES. “Arena.io provides a platform and data translation that helps workers move more efficiently into opportunity while enabling employers and institutions to make smarter talent decisions.”
“Our partnership with Arena.io enables dislocated job seekers in the Cleveland area to move into great-fit new roles and careers and allows employers in our region to fill key roles more efficiently, all towards the goal of increased retention that enables workers’ economic mobility and reduced employer costs,” said Michelle Rose, CEO of Greater Cleveland Works, the workforce board for Cuyahoga County. Within 90 days of Arena.io going live in Cleveland, 17 new enterprises had signed agreements to use the platform via this partnership, including a major league sports team, high profile manufacturers, skilled trades organizations, retail, and healthcare providers.
The new funding comes at a time of strong momentum for Arena.io, as organizations face persistent labor shortages, changing workforce expectations, and increasing pressure to better understand workforce trends. To date, Arena.io’s predictive platform has driven an average 21% reduction in first-year turnover, replacing resume-based bias with objective outcome data to match individuals into roles where they are most likely to thrive and advance.
Arena.io plans to leverage the funding to:
- Expand its AI-powered workforce intelligence platform
- Accelerate development and adoption of its workforce mobility solutions
- Grow partnerships across employers, educational institutions, and government agencies
- Expand engineering, data science, and product capabilities
- Support continued innovation in labor market analytics and workforce planning
