Chef José Andrés debuts a curated menu of Spanish dishes on CookUnity, available for nationwide delivery
Andrés has spent more than three decades introducing Americans to Spanish food, beginning with Jaleo, his flagship Spanish tapas restaurant that opened in 1993 in Washington, D.C. The José Andrés Group now operates more than 40 restaurants, from the Michelin-starred minibar in Washington, DC and é by José Andrés in Las Vegas to Mercado Little Spain in New York. For diners or fans of Andrés’ cooking who may not be within easy travel distance of his dining rooms, or want to enjoy his classic dishes at home, CookUnity provides an award-winning and restaurant-quality experience delivered straight to people’s front doors.
“José is the reason that many Americans know what real Spanish food tastes like, and he has one of the most singular points of view on food today,” said Mateo Marietti, CEO and co-founder of CookUnity. “We are beyond excited to welcome him to CookUnity and directly work together to bring more of his inventive and authentic cooking to a wider net of diners and food lovers across the country.”
Starting today, CookUnity diners can order Andrés’ new CookUnity menu as part of their weekly subscription, which features three signature dishes to start. His menu is prepared fresh daily by specialized kitchen teams and draws from recipes that he has perfected throughout the course of his career, while also reflective of the traditional, everyday home cooking that shaped his love of food as a child. Andrés’ CookUnity menu will feature a rotation of Spanish dishes, beginning with:
- Paella de Pollo y Verduras: A simplified reimagination of Spain’s most traditional rice dish with roast chicken and a variety of hearty vegetables like artichokes, peppers, and mushrooms
- Fideos a la Cazuela con Gambas: Short, thin fideo noodles stewed with shrimp, a classic from Spain’s Mediterranean coast
- Macarrones con Chorizo: Pasta baked in tomato sauce with Spanish chorizo and finished with baked, melted cheese, the dish nearly every kid in Spain grows up eating
“I love to share the recipes I grew up eating in Spain,” said Andrés. “Dishes my mother used to make for me and my brothers, and ones I make for my daughters. I want to give you the flavors that feel like home to me, right there at your table. We can go on a journey to Spain together, without leaving home!”
CookUnity’s promise is to deliver masterful, high-quality, and nutritious food to people everyday, as imagined by the world’s most renowned chefs and culinary talent. By providing fully equipped kitchens, logistical support, and distribution, the CookUnity model enables chefs to grow beyond restaurant walls and their local delivery boundaries.
Andrés joins a CookUnity roster of nearly 150 chefs, including 22 James Beard Award-recognized chefs and five Michelin-starred chefs. Over the past year, the platform has added menus from esteemed chefs including Marcus Samuelsson, Rocco DiSpirito, Vikas Khanna, Michael Solomonov, and legendary YouTube creator, Andrew Rea, better known as Babish.
