Opening during National Physical Therapy Month extends a teaching practice that began as one Pawtucket clinic in 1999
MILFORD, Mass., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Highbar Physical Therapy today opened its 57th location, in Milford, during National Physical Therapy Month. Highbar began in 1999 as Performance Physical Therapy, a single clinic in Pawtucket, R.I., and took the Highbar name in 2023.

Highbar is built by physical therapists, for physical therapists. Its clinical leaders are licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, and clinicians make decisions about care.
“Milford is our 57th location, and the standard is the same in every clinic,” said Michelle Collie, PT, DPT, MS, CEO of Highbar Physical Therapy. “Expert, individualized care from physical therapists who never stop learning. We built Highbar so clinicians can do their best work and patients get care when they need it.”
“Our goal in Milford is simple: expert, individualized care close to home,” said Brian Simons, PT, DPT, NCS, Clinic Director at Highbar Physical Therapy Milford.
As a teaching practice, Highbar invests in mentorship, continuing education, and residency programs with a 100% board-certification pass record, and partners with New England universities on student clinical rotations.
